Taking a break from the lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous of actually making beer, I killed some time tonight designing a new logo and a little draft concept for bottle labels.
As you can tell I am far from a graphic designer, but I’m pretty pleased with how these turned out. They’re relatively simple and they capture Punk/DIY aesthetic that I’m going for. I pulled a template from GrogTag and threw the rest together in Photoshop. The stencil I used as a base for the skull didn’t have any teeth in it, and I liked the look of that, so I ran with it and had the beer name/brand name (ha!) go over the mouth sort of in the style of censorship. Partially channeling Banksy and partially this set piece from BBC’s Sherlock.
And if you’re wondering, yes; Bandito is a beer that I intend to brew soon. It will be an American IPA and I plan on using some new techniques like “hop bursting” for this beer. I really want to have a good “house IPA” that I can make consistently. If you’re curious about the name, it’s named after Steve McQueen.
